Overview
Because Jaxx Liberty is discontinued and legacy servers are offline, you can no longer restore directly into modern third-party wallets. To regain access, follow the Export & Unlock Process. Two supported paths are available depending on whether you still have legacy wallet files.
Method A: Standard Recovery (With Legacy Wallet Files)
Extract & Submit Your Legacy File
Locate the main wallet file from your old Jaxx installation. Follow the steps for your platform:
- Windows: Navigate to your Jaxx installation directory (typically
C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Jaxx\). If you only have a backup installer (.exe), right-click the file and open it with an archive tool like 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the internal contents. Look forwallet_core.dll,lib_keychain.lib, orjaxx_state.dat.lib. - Android: Locate the original Jaxx Liberty APK file. Use a reputable APK decompiler or file explorer (such as MT Manager or APK Extractor) to unpack the application package. Navigate to the
/lib/or/assets/directory inside the extracted folder to findwallet_core.dll,lib_keychain.lib, orjaxx_state.dat.lib.
Once located, send the file to our recovery team and specify your target device type for the recovery tools: Windows (.exe) or Android (.apk).
Receive your recovery package
Within 24–48 hours you will receive a secure email containing two files: Jaxx Exported Wallet and the SeedBridge Offline Compiler, provided in your selected platform format.
Generate the Jaxx Unlocker
Open the SeedBridge Offline Compiler, enter your 12-word recovery phrase when prompted, then click Generate. The tool encrypts the phrase locally and outputs the Jaxx Unlocker file (.exe or .apk).
Fill in the form AAccess your wallet
Run the generated Jaxx Unlocker. It verifies the encrypted seed mapping and opens the Jaxx Exported Wallet. Once open, review balances and migrate funds to any modern BIP39-compatible wallet.
Method B: Manual Index Reconstruction (Missing Legacy Files)
Note: This advanced process requires additional verification to rebuild your wallet container from public ledger data.
Export transaction history
Using a public block explorer, download the complete CSV transaction history for every address you used in Jaxx Liberty.
Submit CSV for index generation
Send the CSV to support for processing. Engineers reconstruct the missing wallet index and generate a personalized wallet_index.map file.
Receive package & generate unlocker
You will receive the Jaxx Exported Wallet, the SeedBridge Offline Compiler, and your generated wallet_index.map. Copy the wallet_index.map file into the root folder of the Jaxx Exported wallet extracted before installation (the same folder containing manifest.json or config.ini). This step is required for the wallet to recognize the reconstructed index during initialization. Follow the same steps as Method A to create the Jaxx Unlocker.
Unlock & recover
Run the Jaxx Unlocker to bind the reconstructed index to the exported wallet interface and restore full access.
fill in the form BSecurity reminder
Never enter your 12-word recovery phrase on random websites, contact forms, or emails. The official process runs entirely offline. The unlocker is cryptographically bound to your device and cannot be reused or transferred.
