Security and Operational Model of Jaxx Liberty

This page provides a transparent overview of the security model, user responsibilities, and current status of Jaxx Liberty. The information is presented for historical and informational purposes only.

Service Status

Jaxx Liberty was a self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet designed to allow users to manage digital assets directly on third-party blockchain networks. The company responsible for Jaxx Liberty has permanently ceased operations, and the wallet software, website, and all related services were officially discontinued on March 27, 2023.

As of that date:

• the Services are no longer supported, maintained, or monitored;
• no software updates, bug fixes, or security patches are issued, only a copy of your Exported Wallet named "Jaxx Exported Wallet" can be issued by our support team for recovery purposes;
• customer support or recovery assistance is still available;
• no active contractual relationship exists between users and Jaxx Liberty.

All references to Jaxx Liberty and its Terms of Use are provided solely for clarity, transparency, and archival reference.

Security Architecture: Full Self-Custody

Jaxx Liberty operated under a strict self-custody security model. Under this model:

• users retained exclusive control of their private keys, recovery phrases, and digital assets at all times;
• Jaxx Liberty never had access to user credentials, private keys, funds, or transaction authority;
• account recovery, password resets, or asset restoration were not technically possible by Jaxx Liberty under any circumstances.

This design ensured that users remained the sole custodians of their assets, while also placing full responsibility for asset security on the user.

User Responsibilities

Security within the Jaxx Liberty ecosystem depended entirely on user practices. Users were responsible for:

• securely storing recovery phrases and private keys;
• maintaining accurate and secure backups;
• protecting devices against malware, unauthorized access, and compromise;
• ensuring the integrity of the operating environment in which the wallet software was installed.

All blockchain transactions initiated through the wallet were final and irreversible once broadcast to the network.

Software Use and Limitations

While the Services were active, Jaxx Liberty was provided as software under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license for personal or internal business use. Unauthorized copying, modification, reverse engineering, redistribution, or commercial exploitation of the software was prohibited.

The software was provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, including security, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Third-Party Integrations

Jaxx Liberty integrated with various third-party services such as blockchain networks, token swap providers, fiat on-ramps, staking platforms, hardware wallets, and market data providers. These services operated independently under their own terms and policies.

Jaxx Liberty did not control, endorse, or guarantee the security, availability, accuracy, or performance of any third-party service and assumed no responsibility for losses, failures, or security incidents arising from their use.

Disclaimer and Risk Notice

Use of Jaxx Liberty was undertaken entirely at the user’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jaxx Liberty disclaimed all liability for direct or indirect losses, including but not limited to loss of digital assets, data, profits, or business opportunities.

Since Jaxx Liberty has been fully discontinued as of March 27, 2023, this page does not describe an active product or service. It is intended solely as an archival security overview and does not constitute an offer, representation, or ongoing obligation by Jaxx Liberty or its former operators.
